Update: Monerujo - Another Android Monero Wallet

Monerujo Release Silver Bharal is a functional Android Monero Wallet, although spending is not allowed on mainnet (yet). No support for the Addressbook (yet) or Transaction Checking (ever?).

Still only armv7 (32-bit) is supported for now.

(Yes, it can do wallet creation & recovery as welll as spending!)

Enjoy!

EDIT: BUG: The send button is displayed in mainnet (shouldn't be) and if it is clicked the app crashes (that's the mainnet sending failsafe kicking in). Just don't click it in mainnet :)

Moving monero from Poloniex or Bittrex to a paper wallet

Could I send Monero from an exchange (such as Poloniex) to the public address of my paper wallet?  Would that work?

I'm new to all this and not a techie person.

Thanks.

Using same blockchain with more OSs [duplicate]

This question already has an answer here:

Is it possible to use same synced blockchain with more wallets, deamons from different operating systems, eg. Windows and Linux?
Of course, not in the same time.

[FAQ] What is Kovri? Why Kovri?

Kovri

We don't know who this person is/was, but they aren't involved with Monero. The subreddit was never in use, so reddit handed it over to us (and this post soon followed).

Reddit / /r/Monero - We need to wait for the bitcoin hype to die

We need to wait for the bitcoin hype to die

Let's be honest, the only reason people ever purchased cryptocurrency in the first place was because of the darknet. At the time, bitcoin was seen as anonymous or untraceable. Your own private bank. You say the word bitcoin, the first thing people think of is drugs, to this day.

Now, why did bitcoin go mainstream, why are so many people putting money in, because of the initial price spike from 1 thousand to 2 thousand, people started seeing bitcoin as an investment, put your money in, double it next week. The mainstream people flooding in and trying to get in on the action, to invest in this anonymous coin.

Now, especially these last few months, more and more people have been realizing and learning that bitcoin is actually not even close to private, not as anonymous as we thought. LE is monitoring all btc transactions. Remember the WannaCry hackers, they coudn't even cash out their btc, they had to trade it with Monero.

As soon as this bitcoin price hype dies and we are back to reality, the price of btc will start hovering, and people will start asking themselves, what's so spacial about bitcoin, my money isn't even anonymous, am i going to use this for anything? buy pizza? what's the point

That's when we come into spotlight, Monero, what cryptocurrency was about in the first place.

A cryptocurrency you can actually use, not just hodl.

Personally i only started hearing/learning about Monero just last week. And i've already traded all my btc for it because I believe Monero has the potential to become a major player, and the room for profit is a lot more than if i kept my money on bitcoin.

To the moon.

How to sweep the contents of a specific output?

I noticed that the sweep_all command warns when it is about to merge outputs from the same transaction, which I appreciate, as that would kind of break the point of ring signatures and make my transactions traceable, after all. But then it provides no alternative... I'm trying to spend by amount, in the hopes that the wallet will always pick the largest output, but that's not a fail-proof solution, as the wallet could very well merge smaller ones instead.

Are there any plans to implement something like sweep_output command, or a transfer command where you can pick the outputs, or in the worst case, something like raw transactions in Bitcoin?

PS: That actually raises another question. I bought some Monero and the exchange credited me, in the same transaction, two different outputs, both with hidden amounts. What's the point? I understand this was necessary before RingCT, but now that the amounts are hidden, why would the exchange wallet create more than one output for me?

Thanks!
